The Uddevalla Grand Prix of Sweden 2020 is canceled
It is with depressing words that we write and send out this message that we unfortunately have to cancel this year’s Swedish MXGP competition which was to take place in Uddevalla, August 15-16.
Like so many other events in these corona times, there are restrictions regarding amount of people at a gathering, and we must of course accept and support these directives in order to end the pandemic as soon as possible.
As we are linked to a promoter, we have had a close dialogue with them, if and when we have to make a decision. It is just as uncertain in the rest of Europe and the World with how all World Cup drivers can travel and will of course be of great importance when and if the series can start up again.
Time travels fast and there is a great amount of preparation for a World Cup event with all that it entails. The time has now caught up with us to make a decision. Our sport is completely dependent on the audience and its income to be able to carry through the event.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank the sponsors and partners who have supported us until today and that we can start preparing for a new WC competition in 2021 as soon as possible.
We are currently working on how we can most easily handle already purchased tickets, and will contact all buyers by mail. This may take some time due to summer holiday.
